"I decided to start calling some of my friends and say, come let me help you to cut your hair without going to college for these," Amad recounted, his eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "Then I started cutting people here. Then I looked at myself and said I needed to sell it to improve my skills."
Peckham, with its vibrant energy and diverse community, played a significant role in shaping Amad's journey. "The community is very peaceful and helpful," he emphasised. "The people around us, help me.’’ Peckham had become a second home a place where he found solace, purpose, and a thriving community. "That's why I said beauty plus," Amad explained with a gentle smile. "You're already beautiful, I’m just the plus." He reflected on the essence of his shop's name, emphasising, "People are beautiful by God. So, I'm just a plus to come and make you fix up for me. I’m just the plus." With a profound understanding of beauty's innate nature, Amad's choice of name encapsulated his belief in enhancing and celebrating the inherent beauty within everyone.

Inspired by Saturday cooking clubs as a kid Eryam tells us his motivations for this space. ‘I also wanted these spaces when I was younger.When I was younger when I was like 12 to between ages of like 15. My mom sent me to like Saturday culinary cooking. So it really sparked my interest in cooking. Never necessarily made me wanna be a chef, but my interest in cooking.
