Story
Beginning as a final year uni project, as I did more research on the spaces you could find around London, I was so surprised to find just how much there is to do and was desperate for a platform where I could share these spaces.
What started as a one time newspaper publication grew to bigger ideas including a short film, dedicated website, team and instagram page.

Amad runs Beauty plus, a barbershop located in the heart of Peckham. "I decided to start calling some of my friends and say, come let me help you to cut your hair without going to college for these," Amad recounted, his eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "Then I started cutting people here. Then I looked at myself and said I needed to sell it to improve my skills."

Ayesha co-founder of Between2books, tells us of the importance of creating a space like this, ‘Our space provides a platform for celebrating black, brown, and underrepresented authors. It offers a community for people who might not find such connections in traditional places. Creating a literary platform that’s accessible and welcoming is vital, especially in a city like London where it can be tough to find inclusive and affordable spaces’

Garden of Afrukia
Garden of Afruika, a cooking club focusing on Afrikan, Caribbean plant based food, started by Eryam. Inspired by Saturday cooking clubs as a kid Eryam tells us his motivations for this space. ‘I also wanted these spaces when I was younger.When I was younger when I was like 12 to between ages of like 15. My mom sent me to like Saturday culinary cooking. So it really sparked my interest in cooking. Never necessarily made me wanna be a chef, but my interest in cooking.

The strategies used in chess are akin to those employed by military leaders and strategists.This mental model is very transferable to many areas of life, including creative strategy.’
